43 Days to go ....

Getting Organised for Christmas

It's time to get yourself organised for Christmas. I keep telling my family it is a couple of months away and they keep telling me it's only 'this many days' - if you want to check it out you can go to the Christmas Clock and it gives you exact days right down to the seconds... so while writing this post it tells me I have 44 days to get myself organised so I had best get to it.

Now there is no better way to get started for the festive season than making Christmas cards. There are some fabulous new releases coming out this week and I am going to give you a sneak peak of two of them. They are the perfect size for cards or even layouts... totally love how they have turned out on these cards - and love how I have made a start on my Christmas cards.

Merry Christmas Star Card

I have used Kraft as my card base and then chose some patterned paper. I then added a little white texture paste to the edge of the patterned paper before adhering it to the card base.

To create the star - I first gave it a light undercoat in white. Then I used my Versamark watermark stamp pad to emboss the star silver. Once this was dry I used Stampin up heat & stick powder and then added the dazzling diamonds.

The star was adhered to the card using dimensional foam squares. I have added some velvet ribbon and silver twine to tie it all together visually.

Merry Christmas Polaroid Frame Card

I am loving this design and it was so simple yet effective when creating the card. I have used a Kraft base card and added some music paper. Then with some offcut kraft cardstock I have backed up with two pieces and a third piece I have added micro beads to and slotted it behind the Scraplet. The Scraplet was given a coat of Gesso and I used a green Sharpie to color the tree. I added some zig zag velvet trim and then coated the piece in Dimensional Magic.

here you can see a close up of the micro beads ( I have taken the photo on an angle this is why you can see the foam tape)
In this picture you can see how effective this Scraplet becomes when it is raised.

I hope this has inspired you to start creating your Christmas cards & as I finish up this post you now only have 43 Days left to send out a little love to your family & friends through the gift of a card.

Keep an eye out over the coming weeks for some fabulous new Scraplets like these - they will make your cards look absolutely stunning.

have fun creating
