Hello from the newbie!

Hi there!  Yvette here today - the newbie on the team!  I'll start by telling you all a few things about myself.  I live in  Brisbane with hubby and our 2 amazing kids - 16 year old daughter & 14 year old son.  They are the subjects of most of my scrapbooking layouts.  I have been scrapping for well over 10 years, but have only recently got back into it in a big way after losing my mojo for a number of years.  I have so much to learn, especially with all the mixed media that is so big at the moment.  I found my mojo again through my new found love of challenges.  They help me get my creative juices flowing.  I also have a love of chipboard, so needless to say I am especially pleased to be a part of the wonderful A2Z Scraplets team!

The very first layout I am presenting today is titled "Magoo".  A crazy little nickname I have had for my son since he was quite young - don't think he appreciates it too much now though!  The chipboard I used on this layout is Chicken Wire Large Frame.

Some closeups of the chipboard:

I love the masculine feel of these chipboard borders.  It's hard to see in these photos but they have quite a lot of texture.  I coated them generously with Rico Design Structure paste.  It is very gritty & great for lots of texture.  Then I spritzed them with Dylusions black ink & to my surprise the end result was a blue-ish hue which worked perfectly with my papers.

My next layout is titled "BeYOUtiful" featuring my daughter.

Some closeups:

I absolutely love swirls and flourishes and fell in love with this one.  It is actually called Doodlet 02 and I think it's gorgeous. To treat this one I simply coated it with Tattered Angels Glimmermist to achieve a wonderful glimmery finish.  And for that amazing BeYOUtiful title, I generously coated it with Liquid Pearls for a wonderful metallic, pearly finish.

I wish you all a very scrappy weekend and look forward to sharing with you some more of my layouts soon!

Until next time,
Yvette x
