A Winter Wonderland

Greetings A2Z Fans!
I created a LO today for the June Challenge
Tracey hosted!
The challenge for June are the following:
At least 2 Winter pictures on your page
                                                 A2Z Scraplet
                                                 Texture paste
                                                 A hint of red
And some recycled aluminum isn't this such a fun challenge!
The aluminum had me stumped to find something because I wanted to find something unique or different! I decided to refurbish a round metal/aluminum tag. For the red I added the sequins, journal circle and twine, and the paste is on the snowflakes. For my chipboard I wanted it to look like ice since I was going for a Winter Wonderland look. After I painted it with Creative Inspirations paint I added Embossing enamel.
I used a heat gun to melt the embossing enamel and then I placed it
in the freezer to harden. Once the enamel was hardened I started moving
the chipboard letter to add the cracks.
Below you can see a close up of the crackling!

Here you can se a few of the cracks I did not add a lot because I only wanted a few. I only added  them to the dream word because I did not want to break the smaller letters.

Here's the A2Z Scraplets chipboard unfinished.

Not only having our daughter was dream come true for us but also that is the 1st time it has snowed on the coast in 30 years and it all happened when we brought our daughter home from the hospital! That made that day a little more special! It never snows on the coast! It was considered a freak snow storm that came from Canada with a cold front!
Thank you Tracey for hosting the fun challenge for June!
If you would like to join the challenge you have until June 30th!
When you join in on the challenge your name will be added to the drawing for a chance to win some amazing A2Z chipboard!
Thank you for stopping by the A2Z blog today!

A Christmas page using non Christmas Scraplets

I am back today to show you a Christmas layout that does not use a single Christmas Scraplet

Here is the layout:

And here is a few close ups:

This scraplet is one piece. After gesso it I painted it red. Then using Flourish With A Bling peals I stuck then along the bottom of the tiara

The bit that are red pocking out of the word Christmas is also a scraplet, painted with gesso and then red paint.

The leaves scraplet came with butterflies. But as I did not need them I have cut them off to use on another layout. I painted it with gesso then painted it green.

The scraplets I used are:

I used the 2 smaller ones on the layout

I hope this gives you ideas when you are looking at your scraplets and the different themes that they can be used for

Thanks for looking

Belinda :)

Mixed Media Frame!

Greeting A2Z Fans!
Today I'm creating with the chipboard
word Living on the edge!
This word goes perfect for our daughter who love to take risks
 and has very few fears!
Here's a picture of her climbing a rock wall!
I altered the chipboard word using a marbleizing technique!
I used gold and copper color by FolkArt paint.
For the texture I went over the wet paint with paper to blot
some of the extra paint off.
A close up is below!

Here's a close up of the 2 colors and the texture.

Here's the A2Z Living on the edge chipboard piece you
             will find in the store!

For the background of the frame I used modeling paste
and used mesh as my stencil for texture. I used several inks, paint for the drips, and splattered Creative Inspirations Paint in Ivory
randomly on the frame. The metal cogs are from
Tim Holtz and Paper Studio.
If you would like a chance to win some A2Z chipboard
come join us in our June challenge! You do not have to use A2Z
chipboard to join in on the challenge! The challenge ends June 30th!
We would love to see what you create with the June Challenge!
Have a wonderful day!

Special Memories brown bags mini album

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this time with my new brown bags mini album.
In this album I used a few of the most beautiful A2Z Scraplets titles on a few pages and not on the cover only. So here is a cover with this Special Moments title and Corner chipboard on the top.

On the second page I used Discover title and a small flourish on the bottom.

The third one is a piece of the Gogs border chipboard.

Those are the inner pages and I just show some of them for the inspiration.

Hope you see the potential of  A2Z chipboards not just as a layout titles, but for lovely mini books too.
See you next time with more A2Z inspiration.

June Challenge

Hello all you creatively inspired peeps we have hit the middle of the year … and the 1st of June is the first day of Winter here in Oz. I have been left in charge to create the challenge for June and to celebrate the cooler weather I thought it would be a great idea to start scrapping your winter pictures that you have sitting in your photo piles unsure of what to do with them.

Here is what I have created

Now for a fresh bit of inspiration you will need to make sure that your layout has these things for the challenge:
At least 2 Winter pictures on your page
A2Z Scraplet
Texture paste
A hint of red
And some recycled aluminium

I have used the Scraplet Capture the Moment and filled in the star with texture paste

The first of my recycled aluminium embellishments - super easy to make
I have used an aluminium can which I ran through my sizzix embossing folder then cut each piece out. I have then added a little alcohol ink over it and rubbed it off on some of them and others
I left the rich dark beautiful fullness of  color.

Have fun creating – there are so many fabulous Scraplets and masks available to use – we can’t wait to see what you come up with. Don't forget there is a prize of some awesome Scraplets up for grabs.

P.S - you can think outside the box too for your winter snaps... you might have yourself all rugged up enjoying a nice cuppa with your slippers on... or the kids under their blankets all snuggly warm... everywhere around us there are fabulous photo opportunities... go out there and make sure you take them for your future pages.

ciao
