Treasure Box Altered Tin.

Howdy everybody! Amy back today to share with you another off the page creation using some fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard.

This is another gift that I created for my darling niece. For this project I wanted to alter a tin that I recently received some Natio Spa goodies in for my birthday. Every girl needs a treasure box so of course Aunty Amy made one for miss Skye's 3rd birthday. I hope she will treasure it forever and my girls even created some beaded jewellery to start off her treasure collection.

Firstly I had to prime my surface as the tin would repell almost all my water based paint mediums that I wanted to work with. To do this, I have coated a layer of Multi Medium (Gel Medium would work too) and I have then cut up the A2Z Scraplets Starburst Large to fit my tin lid and also adhered with the Multi Mediuim. I added some Multi Medium to the surface of the chipboard too and because I was in a rush, I have used my heat gun to dry really quickly after each wet step. I allowed the Multi Medium to boil and bubble so it would create some added texture to that fabulous starburst. I then added some fabulous lace from my stash around the base of the tin using the Multi Medium also.

The next step was to finish priming and because the Multi Medium dries clear, I had to add some regular Gesso to cover the printing on the outside of the box. Again, after drying with my heat gun, I have painted the entire base and lid with some Antique White Paint from Kaisercraft. 

Once the paint was dry, I have rubbed a heap of Viva Decor Inka Gold over all that fabulous texture to help it pop! A golden treasure box for my niece how special! If you don't have Inka Gold, grab an ink pad and use your finger to add some colour softly to the raised texture. 

Now that my tin was painted and ready, I have added some Cheese Cloth and a tonne of Prima flowers, Birds Nest, Handmade Halo Charms and some wire swirls. I also had this fabulous bird in my stash that looked perfect on top and to help blend the project together, I have added some Inka Gold to the tips of all the flowers and onto the Bird roughly as well.

Creating with At The Park Chipboard Title and Paints & Gelatos!

 

Greetings A2Z Fans!

Hope each of you are having a great week so far!

Today I'm creating with A2Z Scraplets chipboard piece

At the park!

I used a 8x11 watercolor paper to create on and used

 Gelatos on the background.

I used a lot of water to create more of a water color background

 and then  added some splashes of Creative Inspirations paint.

For the At the Park chipboard I wanted to add some texture so I added

 some modeling paste to the top of the tree, and some lines to the trunk using a metal rub on tool.

The paint I used on the chipboard are from Creative Inspirations Paint.

The kite I painted and added some glossy accents to the top of the paints and some flossing string for the kite string. 

For the park word I used a mini floral stamp and randomly

 stamped across each letter.

I fussy cut the paper leaves and added some ink

randomly to outline them.

To finish the Layout I added a metal bird from my stash.

Mirror Mirror on the wall...

Good morning, good day and good night everybody!

 Amy here to share a fabulous off the page project that I recently created using some fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard pieces. Did you know A2Z Scraplets sells retail now and at crazy affordable prices? Seriously click here to go shopping after you read my post of course LOL.

My neice's birthday party was yesterday and unfortunately I had completely forgotten about it until Saturday afternoon. In all fairness, my whole family has been sick for over a week AND I held a huge Alice in Wonderland Themed Birthday party joint for me and my daughter on Saturday so I have been seriously preoccupied. Anywho, I was out of funds and out of time and all I could do was make some fabulous gifts for her to enjoy. 

I had this fabulous giant Kaisercraft Mirror that I have literally been hoarding for about 3 years. I just knew it would be perfect especially because my brother and his partner are just about to buy their first home and will be able to decorate to their hearts content (as opposed to rentals where it seems you aren't allowd to put a nail in the wall anywhere).

To start off this creation, I wanted to add lots of different texture. To create the texture, I have added random strips of masking tape, some gel medium that I have swirled a pattern into, as well as 2 A2Z Scraplets Floralette 4 Flourishes. I turned one around so they are mirrored on either side and adhered with some Gel Medium. 

The next step was some pretty lace around the inside of the frame and followed by a couple of coats of Gesso to prime my surface. I used a really thin Gesso because I didn't want to lose my texture but because it was thin, I needed a couple of layers.

Because I was short for time, I have heat dried with my heat tool in between each and every step. I literally created this and one other project in less than 3 hours which is great because I am impatient! The next step was to spray lots of beautiful coloured sprays over the surface. I went with a mixture of Pink, Yellow, Blue & Purple and used a variation of Dylusions Ink Sprays, Lindys Stampgang Starburst Sprays as well as some Glimmer Mists. I didn't want the colours to mud up too much but blend a tad so I have only sprayed 1 colour at a time in random spots and then heat dried, then repeat etc etc.

Again I have heat set all that beautiful colour when I was happy and I then wanted to highlight the beautiful texture and detail but it in a subtle and pretty way. I decided to mix some Texture Paste with White Acrylic Paint and then, using my finger, I have highlighted all the raised areas including the chipboard, lace and along the edges of the entire mirror. I added some green Liquid Pearls to the leaves on my chipboard to bring them out a little and to add some more green to the mix. 

The final additions were lots of beautiful Prima Marketing Flowers shabbied up using my finger and paint/texture paste mix just on the tips of the flowers. 

The result was really breathtaking and I was so proud that I got both this and another amazing gift completed  in such a short time for my niece. Luckily I have a box here of cards already made because I forgot to make a card in my creative session LOL. Anywho, I will be back in a few days time to share the second fabulous Off the Page Project that I made for my beautiful Neice. This time, a treasure box!

Your life journey

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today I want to share my new layout made with this fantastic Journey title.

As  you can see my dear grandson is not going anywhere. This is just his lovely studio photo made by Limor Aharon, but I mad it his  Life Journey. So much to see, so much to explore!(Also this 2 years old already spent a month in Thailand and a week in Italy and as his  parents love to travel  so I think he has a great future...)
I painted the title to fit those mute page colors and it's just a MUST for this page.

Hi there, Sam here with you today.  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far and fitting in a bit of crafty time for yourself.

Today I am sharing a layout that I have created using a photo of my beautiful baby sister (well she is not a baby anymore, she is 16 but growing up so quickly into such a beautiful young lady).  This layout is a fairly simple layout but I think it is very effective. 

 

I have had my first attempt at distressing a photo for this layout, I have never done it before as I have been a bit to scared to ruin the photo and then have to wait to get another one printed before I can finish my layout.

I absolutely love this beautiful vine border Scraplet that I have used for this layout, I think it fits in perfectly.  I have coated the scraplet in baby blue distress stickles which gives the perfect effect for this layout

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Normally I love to add a whole heap of flowers to a layout but with this one I just felt that it didn't really need a huge amount so I just added a few neutral ones.  I have had the gorgeous sequined leaf in my stash for a long time now and decided to use it on this layout

 

 

This is the finished layout that I absolutely love.  The reason that I have done a fairly simple layout here is simply that I didn't think it needed a lot done to it because the paper is just so stunning on its own and I did not want to overwhelm it.
