Hi, Deb with you today. Things have been super busy leading up to Christmas. Getting the presents organized, the food list done, finalizing orders, some new releases and school holidays have hit. I'll be downing tools for a couple of weeks to spend time with the family and catch up with everyone.
Today I have a few Off the Page things to share. Some more things we have been doing with custom designs. Firstly, I have made some invitations for someone very special. They wanted something simple but different. We used Timber veneer for the invitation itself, engraving the information.
The RSVP and Wishing Well were kept super simple.
The outer cover of the invitation was designed into a half doily in
order to mount the invite to the back and fold the cut out over the top. Lastly, it was all tied together with twine, ribbon and a charm.
The next project for completion was some Christmas decorations for the tree. We have numerous children and grand children in our family and this year, I designed some ornaments with their names on. These are cut out of 1.8mm thick chipboard for a sturdy, durable memento that can be kept from year to year.
These are so easy to decorate. I have simply painted the back and front a couple of times. Then when dry, applied a coat of dimensional finish and covered liberally with glitter. Shake off excess. That's it!
I have used a variety of colors, glittering to match the paint.
These look stunning hung on the tree.
Lastly, I have been making some 'home decor' type wall hangings for the girls. Using some string hearts, a variety of threads and laser cut chipboard names, I came up with these gorgeous hearts.
Again, the chipboard has been painted, 3D'd and glittered. Just enough sparkle for some special little girls.
Close ups of the finishes on the names.
That's it for another week, I'll see you again next Sunday for my final post before Christmas.
Until next time,
Happy Scrapping
Deb
