Sunshine in my life ....

Hi Deb here with you today. If ever scrapbooking made sense it is when something is gone and we are left with memories. A moment, a trip, a place, a person .......... things that are part of life, part of who you are or what makes you ......... these are what we place in our scrapbooks for our families to see and feel.

This layout is one of my daughter and shows such happiness that it makes me smile looking at it.

Here's a close up of the chipboard - simply colored using a color spray.

Materials used:
Kaiser kraft card
Black gesso
papers

Looking back, seeing now .....

I've been going back through photos from when my children were younger and scrapping the memories that they bring back. When they were younger we had deer at the farm and occasionally an orphan came along to be cared for.

The Single Deer was just perfect for this photo.

I have painted it, shading around the edges and then given it a coat of Rock Candy Crackle paint.

Life is Pretty Amazing sums up how I feel about travelling. Canoeing around the caves of Thailand on a family holiday couldn't be explained any better.

The title has been inked to give it a stipple effect with the Life word outlined with pen.

White Tigers in chipboard...

Whether or not these beautiful big cats will be around for my family's coming generations is unknown. However, scrapbooking our photos preserves the memories of the things we have seen in our lives.

I have used a couple of chipboards on this page - Chicken Mesh and Engraved Tiger

The close up of the tiger shows the finish achieved by using paint dabbers to color the very detailed engraving on the chipboard.

The Chicken Mesh again, has been simply painted with a white dabber paint.

Loving these Hashtag words ....

Deb here again today with a couple of pages to share.

The first one is another of my son's football days. In this one I have used the chipboards raw. The engraved frame is one from the Set of 3 PL cards and I've combined it with a small Hashtag word, Memories.

These journalling cards come as a solid piece but I have cut along the engraving line to create a frame from it.

The Hashtag memories word is part of a set of 6 words, a really handy and great set of words to use on your pages.

The next one I'd like to share with you is one of my youngest child and her ever faithful companion. Nothing will come between them and so this title was just right for the page.

I have used the Friends Fur Ever and simply chalked it to slightly change the color from raw to a light kraft color to suit the page.

Until next time

Memories ...........

Deb here with you today.

How do you sort your photos out to scrap them? I wander back and forth from the past to the present. I have so many to do that I guess I just choose what inspires me at the time.

The first page is one of a portrait of my youngest daughter. The photo was taken about 15 years ago and is fairly dominated by purple. I decided to run with the color and enhance it rather than try and make it passive.

I used two new scraplets on this page 'memories' from the Rustic Moments and Memories set and 'Flourish 105'. Memories is simple painted while the flourish has been given a covering of gesso, paint and pearl paint.

The next page is a simple, fun one of a day out with family Go Karting.

The title 'GoKart' has been painted and outlined with black pen.

 Until next time,

Hi, Deb here with you today. I've been so inspired to create scraplets for so many of our holiday photos although they are suitable for a wide variety of pages.

I used the border word 'amazing' on this page along with one of the words from the set 'moments, memories'.

I started playing with some textures for these chipboards. Using gesso as the base, I applied it with a spatula to texturize the scraplet before adding paint.

To color the scraplet I used Tim Holtz distress paints in 3 colors, dabbing them on and then spritzing with water to blend lightly. The effect is a stunning and outstanding title.

One of the places we visited was an animal shelter. While these places may not be perfect, they do serve a purpose. The animals here were clean and well cared for and all had been rescued from the wild after accidents which had resulted in them being maimed and unable to fend for themselves.

Again, having fun with the gesso and using it with a stencil to create a background on the paper before building the rest of the page. A variety of techniques were used on the chipboard on this page. The 'lucky you' scraplet was painted white and finished with Rock Candy crackle paint. The background piece 'leaf litter' was painted with a mix of 3 different distress paints.

I love the versatility of these little arrows.

One last one for the day. An older scraplet was used here and the perfect title for the page.

Gotta love holidays!

We're back from holidays and settling back into the usual work routines. While the memories are still fresh I started to do some of the photos that we took. Between three cameras, two phones and two ipods between us, there are a few!

Again, Thailand was a beautiful place for a holiday and the kids enjoyed many new and exciting experiences. No doubt you'll see many pages coming that will share our time there.

This page was a very simple one using Kaisercraft papers, stamps and die cuts plus the addition of some holiday inspired Scraplets. The Elephant Trekking scraplet can be found on our website now.

This next page is an older photo of our son and his 'tatt'. I've used an older range of paper from Basic Grey and some of the newer arrow and tattoo flourish scraplets.

To give it a bit of a rugged look I roughly 'splodged' paint on the arrows and stapled them to the page.

The circle of twine with another arrow attached over it, takes the focus to the main picture.

A close up of the tattoo flourish.

While thinking about holidays, I put a super simple page together for a challenge on using pockets. The photo strip is a long pocket and holds the leaflet and memories of our stay in this little cottage.

New Designs released today ......

Woohoo, we've all been working hard here at A2Z Scraplets and I'd like to say a huge thank you to the DT girls - Belinda, Bel, Monica, Kylie, Petra, Tracey, Kerry and Carolyn. These wonderful ladies not only create stunning projects, showcasing their lives and family's memories but have been tremendous support during the changeover. They've also been the inspiration behind many designs (many are still on the drawing board) and I know you will enjoy seeing their upcoming work using the new designs.

For now you'll have to put up with one of my pages. A very simple one using the new 'a proud moment" somewhat tongue in cheek and the "bird on a barb wire".

Both chipboard pieces have simple been inked with the barb wire having a distressed look added.

Other elements used are Kaiser Basecoat papers, Paper Loft card and a ticket stamp. It's simple, inexpensive and states the events of the day.

You'll only find our new range of chipboards in your local scrapbook store or online shop. Ask them about getting them in for you.

Remember to go over and "Like" our facebook page A2Z Scraplets to go into the draw for a parcel of chipboards.
