Karyn's Favourites from 2015!

Happy new year A2Zers! 

I hope the new year brings you much happiness and lots of time with the ones you love.I've chosen 3 of my favourite layouts from 2015, I hope they inspire you to create your own masterpieces in 2016!

First up, is my Superstar layout using the Shabby circle and Superstar scraplets. This layout was picked up for publication in the Scrapbooking Memories magazine, woohoo!

The Shabby Circle scraplet has been covered with paper and then Diamond Dust over the top. The Superstar scraplet was embossed with Stampendous White Shabby Embossing Enamel.

Second is my Beauty layout, including a tutorial. I used a bunch of charms and this funky Flourish scraplet and lots and lots of Gesso! Click here for the full tutorial.

As some of you may already know, I lost my husband in a tragic motorcycle accident in August. Out of every layout I've ever created, this was John's favourite. The photo is of him (left) and his cousin Darryl. They've always been more like brothers than cousins, they had a very special bond. 

The Awesome chippy from the A2Z Scraplets Awesome Fabulous set has been coloured in with a burnt orange pen on the top half and a black Sharpie on the bottom half. Then the whole thing was coated in Dimensional Magic and outlined with a black gel pen. It's given a very cool effect.

This gorgeous A2Z Scraplets Industrial Large Corner chippy was spritzed in Kaisercraft's new Charcoal Mist with the Peach mist spritzed over the top. These mists are fantastic. Full of colour as well as some glimmer.

To get the effect around the photo, I just scribbled with a white gel pen all the way around, I love how it turned out!

Yummy!

Long time no scrap! How are you all doing, my lovely A2Zers? Sorry I haven't been around much for the last 5 months, we have had a huge loss in the family. I'm hoping that getting back into my crafting will help the grieving process, so here goes :) 

I have created this cute layout of our Master of Mayhem eating some delicious ice cream from Cold Rock using the gorgeous A2Z Scraplet Yummy Shabby Circle in this great set, which I coloured with Tim Holtz markers and Kindy Glitzed the word yummy, and the Off The Wall collection by Kaisercraft. The circles on the background paper were made simply by dipping a jar lid, misting bottle lid, and pencil end into some paint and stamping with them. Easy!

Scrapping with the kids .:. layouts with heart circles

I do enjoy scrapping with the kids, not all the time because it gets a bit stressful... but sometimes now and then.
When I scrap with my 6 year old we like to start looking at a scrap-tutorial at YouTube. And then she wants to create something similar.
This time we looked at a tutorial by Kelly Foster (Thank you Kelly for the inspiration!) and this is what we made, starting with my page:

Cruisin..

Hi everyone, Kerry here today to share some layouts that i have been doing. On Australia Day this year, hubby and i headed over to adelaide for an Australian day cruise with the Hk-Ht-Hg Club of SA. These are the layouts from that day. Note not all the photos were taken by me so cant take credit for all the photos.

This one was though and my view on the cruise. I used the leftover piece from the shabby circle pack on here.

Today I am showing 2 pages with the new releases using 4 different Scraplets. This was the most beautiful release so far according to me Deb has really blown the hole DT away with her designs WOW. On this first page I just wanted to keep it simple to let the Scraplets stand out. I combined with my current favorite collection Styleboard by Maggie Holmes from Crate Paper.

The frame I just colored with Peacook Feathers Distress ink. Also the title 'as time goes by' has Peacook Fethers together with some light embossing to make it shimmer. The swirly circle I colored with Tattered Angels Chalkboard glimmer mist Strawberry Shortcake to get the same matte Finnish and then I embossed with glitter embossing on some parts of it.

 Page #2 is made using the same collection Styleboard by Maggie Holmes from Crate Paper. I just added a gold embossed title as the final touch to get it special.

When I embossed the title 'love this life' I tried gold spray from Crafter's companion and then added gold embossing powder when the gold spray was still wet. When heating I got this really bubbly boiling effect... Love it.

Ink, paint, mist, embossing powders, dimensional magic .....

Chipboard would have to be my favorite scrapbooking embellishment. There are so many mediums that can be used to give them a brilliant finish. 

My first page share is one where I've used the 'waste' piece from the "Shabby Circles" set (included in the pack) and one of our new wordlets "Love this life". Simply finished with a black paint for a matte frame and title on the page.

 The next one is using an older title which suits the photo quite well. I've painted this one out to highlight the flame part of the title. The cogs from one of the cog sets have been inked and heat embossed using a couple of metallic and rustic powders.

 Paints and mists were used to create the marbling finish on the star frame Scraplet. Sprayed while the paint is still damp allowed the mists to swirl and blend for individual look.

 "It's the little things" title depicts my grandchildren were out 'looking' for the Smurfs at Easter. Thinking they were going to be rather small they were quite surprised when the finally found them and they were HUGE.

April release ...................

There's a huge range of designs in the pipeline - sports, project life styled, funky frames along with some elegant pieces. Let's just say our drawing board is not empty!

 Our set of shabby circles also comes with the 'waste' pieces. The bits that would normally make it to the bin. While playing around with them to get an idea of their versatility we found that the cutouts from between the circles were great as well. So why throw them out? That nearly doubles the pieces in the pack! Great value.
