This page is my inspiration piece for the March challenge.

So far for 2018 I've been focusing on stash busting. 

I love a challenge with a theme, because you can use what you have available.

This collection from Simple Stories was one of my favs a few years back so I dug it out and got creating.

I've teamed it with the

Can't live without title.

I've given it a light coat of Distress Ink so that it has a two tone effect, with the raw chipboard showing through.

Nrmally I would never put brown, red and yellow together but the collection combined those colours, so I figured "Why not?"

Small but fierce - December A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge sample by Judith Armstrong

Good morning and welcome to my take on the last challenge for the year. This months challenge is to use at least 2 items that have either been reused, repurposed or recycled on your project. Further details can be found on our Facebook page here. 

Here is my take:

The two items I have used are some some gold ribbon that was originally used to tie up a bouquet of flowers and pieces of a string bag that with mandarins came in.

I loved the A2Z Scraplet title Small but fierce and knew I had the perfect lion cub photo for it. I painted the title gold and then added some gold kinderglitz over the top to give it a sparkly look.

November A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge Sample - CHIPA outing to Sherbrooke Forest by Judith Armstrong

Good morning, time is racing by. Can you believe it is November already. Today I am sharing my take on the November A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge. 

This month we have an inspiration challenge based on the photo below.

My take on this was to create a project based on a walk in the bush in Sherbrooke Forest in Victoria by my local photographic group. 

This is the right hand side of my layout

and the left hand side.

For my title I used a custom created piece based on my photographic groups logo. To match the timber feel of the photos I decided to try and match this on my chipboard. I inked the title with brown ink. Then I stamped over the top with brown Stazon ink and a woodgrain stamp. 

I was really pleased with the look of the chipboard that I also used it on this camera from  A2Z Scraplets Camera Set of 3 shapes. 

And on this A2Z Scraplets Dead Trees x 2 Shapes.

October A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge Sample - Chameleon @ Taronga Zoo by Judith Armstrong

Good morning A2Z fans, today I am sharing my take on the October  A2Z Scraplets Papercraft challenge.  The challenge this month is to use the palette below to create a project

And here is my take on it.

I created my background by using a stencil and a number of different colour ink pads. I decided I liked the look so used the same woodgrain stencil on my title. I used the A2Z Scraplets Taronga Zoo word for my title. I inked it with green ink and then stenciled over the top with a teal chalk ink.

I also used the twirly border from A2Z Scraplets Border Strip 09. I began by painting it with acrylic paint. Then I wanted to create a surface that resembled the bobbly skin of the chameleon. So I glued different sized pearls and a little bit of bling on top.

September A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge sample - Sitting on Santas knee by Judith Armstrong

Good morning and welcome to another weekend. Today I am sharing my take on the September A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge. 

The September challenge is to create a Christmas project using non-traditional colours - no red or green. I chose to go with pink and aqua to create this layout of my children sitting with santa.

I using the A2Z Scraplets Sitting on Santa's Knee words for my title. I painted them with teal Dylusions paint but it was not quite the right colour I wanted so then covered the title with diamond glitter which made the title more of a lighter teal as well as giving it a glistening quality.

July Challenge entries

I thought it was about time I put a post up about our challenge and the wonderful entries that we get each month. The July challenge was a mood board and proved very popular. Here's a sample of what we received and you'll see that we had a hard time judging them. 

Our winner was Carolyn Haswell with her stunning entry.

The following entries were fabulous and again, as you can see, made it hard to choose a winner. 

Thanks to all who entered and I hope you enjoyed taking part. Next month we'll have another new challenge and $30 gift voucher to spend in store on chipboard.

Meow - August A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge sample by Judith Armstrong

Good morning, welcome to the weekend. As you read this I will be jetting off to Singapore for the week. Don't you just love advance scheduling!

Today I am sharing my take on the August A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge which was to create a project using a new technique or a technique you have not used for a long time, or use a new product. 

Here is my sample

The new technique (to me) that I used was gilding flakes. I bought some at a craft show a couple of years ago and have never used them. Unfortunately they were the wrong colour for this layout but I found some at a local $2 shop that were silver so decided to give them a go.

I used the A2Z Scraplets Meow title. When I bought my original gilding flakes I also bought some special flake and glitter glue. I think you just need glue that stays tacky for a while. I covered my chipboard in glue and then covered it with the flakes. I patted them down and then used a firm foam pad to brush the excess flakes off.

 I also used this technique on the A2Z Scraplets Circles Texture Medium Shape.

If you don't have or can't find any special glue the technique works just as well with double sided tape or jac paper. I die cut these chevrons from jac paper and stuck them on my page and then added the flakes and then brushed off the excess. 

Don't forget if you are struggling for inspiration you can also use the sketch provided for this months challenge. It is only optional.

July challenge and sample by Judith Armstrong

Good morning and welcome to a new month. That means there is also a new challenge!!

We would love you to create a project based on this mood board.  

There is no product criteria for you project, you can use chipboard if you have it (can be any brand, but no names please except A2Z)/ Please include any technique used for decorating your chipboard if you have used it.

Entrants in the Challenge are asked to be a "liker" of our facebook homepage https://www.facebook.com/a2zscraplets this is not compulsory.All entries must be created exclusively for the A2Z Challenge only and not combined with any other challenges. All entries are to be made brand new and the Challenge runs for the full month of July and is open to experienced as well as novice papercrafters. Tell us if this is your first challenge. Here is my take on the challenge:

I have used some of the pieces from the A2Z Scraplets Seaside Set and the A2Z Scraplets chicken wire shape.

I initially heat embossed the title By the seaside and then painted over it with blue acrylic paint.

I painted the lighthouse from the seaside set with white acrylic paint and the light part with red acrylic paint.

I used a similar treatment to the title for the waves. I love how the embossing gives a bumpy appearance.

Finally, I cut a couple of pieces from the chicken wire shape and left them neutral.
