December Inspiration with Irit

Hello, my dear crafty friends! Irit is here again and this time with a mix of all kinds of projects made with some most gorgeous A2Z Scraplets goodies.
My first project is a  layout made with PRECIOUS title.

Those are photos of my Dad, who passed away last year and his very first grand grand son and those moments are very precious to all of us.

My second layout today is a page about childhood memories and I used this huge and fantastic title on it. This is just a moment in time that we want to scrap and to keep: messy watermelon in my grandson's small hands.

The last one is a simple and yet fancy card I made with 2 butterflies from the butterflies set. I painted them in white and added some pastel embossing powders over them and a bit of Fairy Dust glitter too.

See you next month with more inspiration!

COGS, BANNERS AND BOYS PART 1

Today I'd like to share a few layouts in my family album using COGS  and BANNERS as the main chipboard embellishment. I am just loving the banners- they are so versatile and have become my favourite chipboard embellishment! The COGS are a very close second- terrific for those 'boy' layouts!!!...and with FOUR men in my life, I can never have enough stock

I bought Kaisercraft Attitude collection to do these layouts.
The first one is of my husband and 3 sons taken at the Old Petrie Town where we all enjoyed waffles for brekkie on a beautiful Spring day in September 2012 to celebrate Father's Day.

This is one of my favourite photos of my 3 sons- the photographer captured their sparkle perfectly! Changing the photo into B and W really worked well for this layout.

The raw chipboard suited this design, just added a few rubon stars and droplets on the cogs.  I used a part of the banner below and embellished it.

Celebrating my Dad's 85th birthday here in Australia in April 2010.

Another lovely photo that was pure pleasure scrapbooking! I also used part of the frame from the cogs to embellish this layout.

I look forward to sharing more of my layouts using cogs and banners in my next blog post.

I wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and
a safe and properous NEW YEAR.

MY FAMILY

"Families fill our lives with happiness and laughter leaving us memories to treasure today and forever after." With Christmas around the corner, being with our families is an important part of the festive season and so I would like to share a few of the layouts I have recently created after my trip to South Africa to visit my family. The first two are of my younger sister, Sonja- she is such a beautiful, kind and loving person and the friendship we share is very special; after 16 years of living on different continents the bond between us, is so still so very close.

I painted the butterfly with Kaisercraft antique white then used Versacolor ink to create the soft tones , added rhinestones, a brad and pearls. The stem and flowers got 3 layers of paint: olive, brown and antique white then Versacolor ink. Finally added Dimensional Magic to the stems and butterfly feelers.

My cousin took this lovely photo of my dad and I- he literally beamed all week- being with his 2 daughters simply filled his heart with so much love and joy, it was overflowing! The time we had together I will cherish forever.
"A father’s love warms the heart of his children forever." Thanks Dad for loving so generously! xox

The photo was taken in her lovely garden and so this collection from Basic Grey, Periphery, suited the photo perfectly.

I just loved designing this layout using the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection- it is so beautiful with its lovely florals and soft colours- suited this photo of my sister and I with our dad- I liked the cursive font of the DADDY a2zscraplet title (cut off the -dy) which I sponge painted brown and olive green to tone in with leaves. The pearls and lace added the feminine touch!

The last layout is of my wonderful and much loved godmother and uncle whom I had the pleasure of visiting for 5 days.

"Family tie are precious threads, no matter where we roam, they draw us close to those we love, and pull our hearts towards home."

Till next month, enjoy scrapbooking your precious family photos.
