July Challenge entries

I thought it was about time I put a post up about our challenge and the wonderful entries that we get each month. The July challenge was a mood board and proved very popular. Here's a sample of what we received and you'll see that we had a hard time judging them.

Our winner was Carolyn Haswell with her stunning entry.

The following entries were fabulous and again, as you can see, made it hard to choose a winner.

Thanks to all who entered and I hope you enjoyed taking part. Next month we'll have another new challenge and $30 gift voucher to spend in store on chipboard.

Happy Scrapping

"You & Me" July challenge inspiration scrapbook layout by Lousie

Hi Crafters

Here is my inspiration layout for the July challenge - "You & Me"

This month over in the challenge facebook page
we are playing along with this nautical themed moodboard.

Image may contain: one or more people, text and outdoor

For my layout I've used the
which I've covered with gesso and then used Tim Holtz distress crayons smudged over the top.

I've also dug up an old photo of Master Z and me at the beach.
I've also used this
and covered it with white embossing powder.

To start this page, I collected some stash papers and elements.
I had no clear direction but love the clean, layered look that I ended up with.

Here's an example of a previous chippie prize pack... You could win just by playing along.

Looking forward to seeing your creations.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

My Everything

Hi again! I have 2 creations here to inspire you today :)

First up is titled My Everything.
This layout was created with 2 gorgeous A2Z Scraplets chippies - My Everything and just one of the 4 Chevron Borders which I cut up into 4 smaller pieces, also the Hello Today and Sandy Toes collections by Kaisercraft, with White and Sand coloured cardstock. Inspired by the colour challenge over at White With 1.

Did you know we've begun monthly challenges again?
Kerry has offered up a gorgeous mood board to inspire us for April:

Here is my take. I was inspired by the clouds, quote and outdoors scene.
I hope you enjoy it!

I designed and cut an MDF cloud-shaped album specially for this project. I feel it suited the A2Z Scraplet - The Sky is the Limit chippy and this wonderful challenge perfectly!

Just incase you were wondering how I got the effect on the chippy, the Heavy Gesso by Prima is so thick it acts as a texture paste. I used 2 coats (with about an hour of drying time between coats) to get the final result. The picture below is after the first coat. The words were coloured with gold gel pen, which was also used to outline the entire album.

To join in this challenge, simply create your masterpiece - inspired by this gorgeous mood board, of course - and upload it here in the comments or on our Facebook page. It's as simple as that! I can't wait to see your take :)

Until next time, keep calm and craft on!
Karyn

Baby Boy chipboard

Hi, Deb here with you today.

Today my share is a page I did for a challenge that used 2 forms of embossing. I dry embossed the background strip of paper and wet/heat embossed the title.

I used a pigment ink and clear embossing powder on the title Baby Boy.

The frame has a coat of gesso painted on it then stamped with an iridescent ink followed by a dusting of perfect pearls.

And a fabric flower, crocheted flower, resin and a pin balance the page.

My second page is my grand-daughter's last birthday party.

I've stenciled with paint, doodled, used bling, lace tape and of course a Scraplet.

With the Birthday Girl I painted it with a combination of the pink and green distress inks, allowing them to blend slightly.

Until next time
Happy Scrapping
Deb
