"Catch of the Day" Step by step scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

I'm sharing a step by step for the creation of my layout "Catch of the Day"

One of my challenges to myself in 2018 is to use my stash.
So I go to the back of my paper collections and must create something, using those papers.
Today it's an older collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Firstly I chose a chipboard piece ...
the Catch of the day word is perfect for my fishing mad family!

I started with a white 12x12 cardstock background and then did some paper tearing - it's one of my favourite ways to add interest and texture.

Next, I covered my chipboard piece in white heavy gesso.
I also played around with placement and background elements - using the papers as inspiration for the triangle pieces.

I then adhered everything down and added some background stamping.

Using the collection as inspiration I added Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in "Deep Water" to the stamped circles with a few little splatters too.

To coordinate my chipboard I used Distress Crayons to achieve the desired colour.

I added a little bit of black around the chipboard title and added foam squares to the back, to help it lift off the page.

I generally add my journalling last - even if it's just a date or year - so that I know where the photo will fit in an album (when I eventually get around to putting them away LOL).

Here is the finished layout.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

I love my family

Good morning all, Tanya here again to share another layout with you.

These arrow chipboard pieces are from the April realest and they are called Arrow set 100 shape
There are 9 different shaped arrows in this set. The 2 arrows that I have added to my layout have been covered with a concrete stone effect paste to give them a more textured grungy look.

Have a wonderful week xx

Art Journal by Brenda Caldow

Hello and welcome to A2Z Scraplets, Brenda here with you today to share my journal pages with you and the fantastic chipboard I have used from the A2Z Scraplets Store.

I love getting messy these days and when doing this background and the chipboards I sure did get messy. Paint, baby wipes, ink, stencils ink, stamps and so much more = messy fun.
Stamping flowers, cutting them out and colouring them with Distress Crayons along with rub-ons are some more of the things that have made the background.

To start my phrase I coloured it with a paint pen. If you don't have them you can use normal acrylic pain in any brand to get the same effect.

I then painted over the top of the words with Pebco Studio Acrylic High Viscosity Iridescent paint. I just love this paint is it has a beautiful shine to it when it dries, a bit peal like in the finish.

I painted the stars with a purple paint pen (again you can use any acrylic paint.) Once this was dry I then applied Perfect Pearls with my water brush.

To do the dandelions I did the same as the phrase and painted it first. The head with white and the stem with aqua. On the stem I used the Pebco Studio Acrylic Paint and the head of the dandelion I used some Platinum Inka Gold and as always applied it with my finger.

Once this was done I applied some glue stick to the head and then give it a very thick coat of Tinby Designs Metallic Melts. Once I have applied it thickly I know it has taken to the glue well. I gently shake off the access onto the white paper and return it to the container.

The reason I use the  glue stick is because I love the effect when it is heated with the heat gun. It appears to look thick and bubbly in spots. To have separated. It makes it look different to the normal. You can see it doing it here as I melt it with my heat gun.

This is it a little closer up. I love the difference in the effect by using a glue stick. I just use the good old Bostick in the blue, only because I can see better on a lot of surfaces where it is.

for the little birds I used the same acrylic paint as the dandelion stems but this time I chose to go over the top with Perfect pearls and then used a Yellow Paint Pen to finish off the beak.

I hope you have enjoyed popping in and seeing my journal. If you keep scrolling down you will see some other great creations from the design team. Call back each day is w always make sure there is something new from one of us for you to see.

Celebrate Today - Karen McLaughlin

Karen up on the blog today with a page I have done for this month's challenge.  It is a challenge all about celebration.  Hope you are able to join in the fun.  I have used the Spots in Random Squares Texture Shape  and used orange and pink to tone in with the paper.  I also tied some wool to the square and contrast flowers.  The title I used is Celebrate Today.  We look forward to seeing your entry.

Live life to the max

Hello All. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's a bit cold and wet here, but with lovely burst of sunshine in between. Today I am sharing another celebration layout...with a twist.

The photos were taken at the finish line of the Tour Down Under Peoples Choice classic. The winning cyclists being two world favourites - Peter Sagan and Andre Greipel - they were celebrating their win and we were celebrating having such amazing cyclists in Adelaide.

The chipboard title is one of the new releases for May. I have painted it with Dylusions paint in polished jade.

The background of the page was created with texture paste, paint splatters, stamping, washi tape and die cut mesh.

Thanks for looking. Wishing you happy crafting!

hi Heidi here today sharing with you my page
