December Inspiration with Irit

Hello, my dear crafty friends! Irit is here again and this time with a mix of all kinds of projects made with some most gorgeous A2Z Scraplets goodies.
My first project is a  layout made with PRECIOUS title.

Those are photos of my Dad, who passed away last year and his very first grand grand son and those moments are very precious to all of us.

My second layout today is a page about childhood memories and I used this huge and fantastic title on it. This is just a moment in time that we want to scrap and to keep: messy watermelon in my grandson's small hands.

The last one is a simple and yet fancy card I made with 2 butterflies from the butterflies set. I painted them in white and added some pastel embossing powders over them and a bit of Fairy Dust glitter too.

See you next month with more inspiration!

COGS, BANNERS AND BOYS PART 1

Today I'd like to share a few layouts in my family album using COGS  and BANNERS as the main chipboard embellishment. I am just loving the banners- they are so versatile and have become my favourite chipboard embellishment! The COGS are a very close second- terrific for those 'boy' layouts!!!...and with FOUR men in my life, I can never have enough stock

I bought Kaisercraft Attitude collection to do these layouts.
The first one is of my husband and 3 sons taken at the Old Petrie Town where we all enjoyed waffles for brekkie on a beautiful Spring day in September 2012 to celebrate Father's Day.

This is one of my favourite photos of my 3 sons- the photographer captured their sparkle perfectly! Changing the photo into B and W really worked well for this layout.

The raw chipboard suited this design, just added a few rubon stars and droplets on the cogs.  I used a part of the banner below and embellished it.

Celebrating my Dad's 85th birthday here in Australia in April 2010.

Another lovely photo that was pure pleasure scrapbooking! I also used part of the frame from the cogs to embellish this layout.

I look forward to sharing more of my layouts using cogs and banners in my next blog post.

I wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and
a safe and properous NEW YEAR.

MY FAMILY

"Families fill our lives with happiness and laughter leaving us memories to treasure today and forever after." With Christmas around the corner, being with our families is an important part of the festive season and so I would like to share a few of the layouts I have recently created after my trip to South Africa to visit my family. The first two are of my younger sister, Sonja- she is such a beautiful, kind and loving person and the friendship we share is very special; after 16 years of living on different continents the bond between us, is so still so very close.

I painted the butterfly with Kaisercraft antique white then used Versacolor ink to create the soft tones , added rhinestones, a brad and pearls. The stem and flowers got 3 layers of paint: olive, brown and antique white then Versacolor ink. Finally added Dimensional Magic to the stems and butterfly feelers.

My cousin took this lovely photo of my dad and I- he literally beamed all week- being with his 2 daughters simply filled his heart with so much love and joy, it was overflowing! The time we had together I will cherish forever.
"A father’s love warms the heart of his children forever." Thanks Dad for loving so generously! xox

The photo was taken in her lovely garden and so this collection from Basic Grey, Periphery, suited the photo perfectly.

I just loved designing this layout using the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection- it is so beautiful with its lovely florals and soft colours- suited this photo of my sister and I with our dad- I liked the cursive font of the DADDY a2zscraplet title (cut off the -dy) which I sponge painted brown and olive green to tone in with leaves. The pearls and lace added the feminine touch!

The last layout is of my wonderful and much loved godmother and uncle whom I had the pleasure of visiting for 5 days.

"Family tie are precious threads, no matter where we roam, they draw us close to those we love, and pull our hearts towards home."

Till next month, enjoy scrapbooking your precious family photos.
                                                                           Monica :)

November inspiration with Irit

Hello, my dear crafting friends! Irit is here and this month with a lot of inspiration again.
My first project is this altered Mixed Media tag. I used the most gorgeous Candles chipboard, covered with glittery gold embossing powder and it's actually the focal point of this project. Just remember: A2Z chippies are not  for scrapbooking only, but for much much more. And with this heavy Mixed Media trend you can make some  outstanding projects using A2Z chipboards.

My second project for today is this Fall layout. I used the old Own shape, covered with brown distress paint and the central open space was just perfect for the round journaling spot.

And my last project for today is another Mixed Media messy layout.

Two great chipboards I used here are misted with the same mists I used over the page.
Hope I inspired you a bit or a lot and see you next month with more inspiration.

Mini Album Layout

Hello

It's Holly here to share one of my recent creations using A2Z Scraplets.

Sometimes we want to share more photos or journalling that what would work on a single page scrapbook layout. In those cases a double is usually ideal, however I recently had a layout in mind with some very important journally and decided why not incorporate a mini album onto my scrapbook page instead.

This is the layout, using the new release Footprints on my Heart scraplet. The scraplet was embossed with a light blue embossing powder although its hard to see the effect in the photos.

The layout features our youngest kitten, Squeak, whom we recently received some scary news about his health. He has a heart murmur and will require further tests to find out how severe his condition is. As you can imagine, we were devastated as this little guy has already made the hugest impact in our lives since we got him in May. So this layout was very much about his story... how he came to join our family and the sad news we got at the vet, and of course, him and his brother hanging out.
This is the first page of the mini album. It tells the general story of how we adopted both our cats.

This second lot of pages is all about our baby Squeak.
And a cute pic of the 2 boys to finish it off.

The mini album is secured to the page using double sided tape and I have used brads and twine to keep the album shut.

Hope you have enjoyed my post. Soon we'll have another baby in our household with my due date only a couple of weeks away now. Can't wait to share our exciting news when the time comes :)

TRAVEL PART 2

My travel scrapbooking continues this month with the designing and creating of these multi-photo layouts. I have now discovered how useful the mini-prints are and especially like the 3x4's as you can see in these layouts! I have used the  Kaisercraft Check-In collection for these layouts. The speciality sheets which include suitable quotes and the collectables make embellishing so easy! You can always rely on a2zscraplets to have the perfect titles for your layouts and what an amazing difference they make to them.
HOLIDAY and EXPLORE are available in 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large to suit your layout.

Special requests like these Alaska titles are available from a2zscraplets.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”  Marcel Proust

Hope you are inspired to scrapbook some of your travel photos.
Happy scrapping!
