Special Day

Hi there everyone - Sam here.  Firstly........... hope you have all had a great Leap Day.  I am very excited to be bringing you this blogpost on a day that we won't see again for another 4 years :) I hope you all made the most of this day - I can honestly say that I had a wonderful day and went to the nail salon & lunch (kid free) which doesn't happen ever!!

Anyway time to get back on topic & show you what I have created with my gorgeous A2Z Scraplet this time.

I started off by covering the chipboard in white Gesso.

I have used colorbox cats eye inks to colour the flowers on this gorgeous chipboard and to blend all of the colours together.  I have used metallic ones so there is a nice shine to them.  I then covered them with glossy accents.

I then used a Clover paint dabber and brushed it over the rest of the chipboard to get a rough painted effect.

Then covered half of the chipboard with leaves (paper) these were just wound around the chipboard using the wire stems and then hot glued randomly just for some extra hold.

Then I added this gorgeous Prima stem & some mini rosebuds in the leaves

I didn't like how the Clover paint dabber colour looked with it so I used some distress ink and rubbed it over the bits that I could get to without destroying the rest of the elements on the chipboard.

I then spritzed it all with some Vanilla Shimmer smooch spritz.  I love hotw it turned out.

I have used a gorgeous photo of my Dad & Stepmum on their wedding day.

The finished product.

Thanks for looking.  I hope you have enjoyed my creation.
Have a great day :)

My new inspiration with new and old Scraplets

Hello, my dear  friends! Irit is here and this time I have some more projects to show you and to inspire you a bit.
The first one is this One of a Kind lo, made in my usual shabby and messy style with this outstanding A2Z title. I made this page for Swedish paper company I design for - Pion Designs, but I had to use other embellishments as this is a paper only company and A2Z had  those perfect chipboards for this page.
The title work was using 3-4 water color paints from Creative Inspirations Paint and them heat embossing with Clear Fine embossing powder. The lamp on the photo side was painted, heat embossed and stamped with black Staz- On ink over embossed chipboard.  I also decided to dress this lamp up a bit and added some lace.
Here is a close up of the title

My next inspiration is  fancy page, made with lots of A2Z flowers- I used 2 sets, also I lost the butterfly in the middle (lol) and rearranged them on my page. All chipboards are painted and then heat embossed with clear and colored embossing powders  from WOW Embossing powders company and this page was proudly displayed on the last Winter 2012 CHA for this embossing powders booth.

And a look on the flowers

The last one for today is my Rockstar lo- made with A2Z title, totally covered with embossing powders, 5-6 layers of it and this page was also displayed on Wow CHA booth.
And a look at the title

OK,I can show you more of my work with A2Z Scraplets, but I keep them for the next month.
See you again soon with our Sketch challenge for March and our March new release.

Cruising the Seas

Hey everyone

A quick share from me this month. I thought I would explain how I created the look for the Crusing the Seas title on this layout:

To create this affect I painted the chipboard using 3 different coloured paints, allowing them to overlap and mix together slightly in the places they meet. This created the gradual colour change.

To get the gloss finish, I coated the title in dimensional magic and allowed it to dry overnight, as the coat was quite thick to give that glossy raised look.

Simple technique for a bold chipboard title.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

LOVELY FLORALS

I have decided to show off the large sprays of blooms today as I find the flowers a beautiful addition to pages as they can take up a large portion of the page with little else for us to add and still make a layout look amazing.

I have used the Floralette #7   on my layout.

Firstly I painted the leaves and stem with Making Memories paint. This is a nice thick paint so I decided not to undercoat my chipboard as I felt it did not need it. Then some Sprinklers spray was added, I lightly misted the leaf areas on the chipboard to highlight and add a little definition.

The next step was to color the flowers, I wanted them to be bold and stand out so Adirondack alcohol ink was added to give a rich vibrant color. I dropped one or two drops straight onto the chipboard and it spread and soaked into the chipboard to cover the whole flower in no time at all.

After adding my Chipboard Floralette to my page with foam dots I decided to embellish it further by adding some extra flowers and some bling.

Sorry for the dodgy final picture ... its a little late here when I took it so the colour is a little off.

Thanks for coming to check out my how to with the Floralette#7.
Have a great week of scrapping

Caz with you for a little bit of wedding Inspiration

HI There. Caz here with you today to share a little wedding inspiration. I hope you have some wedding pics tucked away that are just waiting to be scrapped and this post inspires you to bring them out and work on them.

First page I have used the stunning A2Z scraplet "Bride" title, I always love working with these scripty elegant titles.

Next we have my baby girl as flower girl this one is using the A2z Scraplet "Angel with Attitude" title and boy it suits my daughter to a tee.

Last of all to showcase this sphoto I am totally in love with I used this a2z Scraplet butterfly swirl and layered it with liquid pearls in a swirly motion I think it gives the page that little bit of OOmph it needed and has finished it off perfectly.

I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared with you today and I hope it has given you a little inspiration. Till next time Take care and Happy scrapping

Caz
