Where has the year gone???

Hi Deb with you again today. We're on the run into Christmas and things are getting very busy but I've managed to squeezed in a couple of pages to share.

I've pulled out an older photo and new one for today's post. The first one is a photo of my son aged about 3 or 4. Yes, he was and is all boy, covered in mud or dirt most days. He did enjoy a good natter to people on the phone and can still talk his way out of anything that comes his way!

I have used a piece of the Nuts and Bolts frame as a corner on the page.

To embellish or decorate it I have simply used inks. Using a combination of two to give it some interest and a bit of a rusty look.

Materials used:
Cosmo Cricket paper collection
A2Z Scraplets Nuts and Bolts Frame
Maya Road Wire @
Magic Scraps Flair

The next page is more about getting right back to basics. With time being tight but still having the need to scrap the memories of our photos, particularly the simple moments that crop up, I have done some very, very simple pages. Documenting the moments being the focus with them. Journalling should be somewhere on your page and I often hide it. I'm not always comfortable with my own handwriting but I do it. I think it's important to pass that on too as it's part of our own personality. How many remember their grandparents writing? One of mine had her own very unique, albeit messy style, but it was her and I can still see it to this day.

The chipboard is a Custom Order and describes this photo perfectly - Bed Hog! I have painted it and then given it liberal sprays of glimmermist. This has resulted in a watermarked look.

Materials used:
Bella Papers
A2Z Scraplets Custom order Chipboard
Martha Stewart Punch
Bazzill cardstock
Tattered Angels Glimmermist

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping.

Gift wrap with A2Z Scraplets

Today I will show you how to make a triangular gift wrap.

It is so easy. just cut a 12x12 paper in half and then use your bone folder as the image show below. Cut out a triangular hole and add some transparent film to cover the hole.

Before folding it, chalk the edges. After folding, you need to make 4 holes on the back side in which you tie a ribbon to close the box after filling it with goodies.

I just white embossed the A2Z Scraplets.

A2Z Scraplets used:
Butterfly scribble fram set
Flourish 48

>>Thank you Helena Näslund for the idea of the gift box<<

Who's a cheeky Elf then??

Wow, it's time to start getting serious on the countdown to Christmas.  A week until we put our tree up - my daughter is very serious about not putting the tree up before the 1st December!  So my layouts for A2Z Scraplets today are Christmas themed!

With the Merry Christmas title on this layout I chose to emboss it with gold embossing powder.

The next layout I have done is a fun double page layout using lots of photos!!  Yep, you read that right, DOUBLE layout and LOTS of photos!!  12 photos in fact.

Closeup of the chipboard...

I love this Elf on the Shelf chipboard.  I knew I had to have it to scrap the photos of our cheeky elf from last Christmas.  (He tried very hard to sneak into my suitcase while I was packing for my trip to Germany to visit my daughter last year!)
I used Viva Inka Gold Metallic Paste on this chippy for a lovely shimmery appearance.

Well there you have it - some Christmas inspiration!

Until next time, happy scrapping,
Yvette xx

Keeping it simple .....

Hi, Deb on the blog today with a couple pages to share. I'm enjoying doing some super simple layouts at the moment. The lead up to Christmas gets busy but I find scrapping some pages so rewarding and relaxing at this time.

The first page I've done here is a of one of my grand-daughters. A simple pic of her sitting on the lawn one day during the school holidays. I have used the new frame 'Fancy Frame' which I cut down to fit.

A close up of the painted frame. I have used Pearl Dabber Paint - this would be my favourite of all the dabbers about. I love it!

 Materials used:
Cardstock
Little Birdie Flowers and Butterflies
Kaisercraft Bling

The next page is a fun one using one of A2Z Scraplets Custom Designed Page Frames. Again I have left it unaltered and journaled around the edges.

Until Next time,
Happy Scrapping,
Deb

wow the year is flying

Hi
Caz here with you today to share 2 layouts that I have recently created using some yummy A2z scraplets.
The first layout is of course of my grand daughter. I used the word Could you be any cuter?

I love this word and it fits perfectly with the pic of my grand daughter

I just used a light pink Kaisercraft Paint on the scraplet.

Products used were:
A2z scraplets chipboard
Prima and Kaisercraft flowers
Lindy's stamp gang mist
White Bazzill
Prima embellishments
Kaisercraft pearls

Now my second layout is a bit different.
On this layout I used the following scraplets:

Lots of different coloured mists and texture paste was used on the background. Once again I just used Kaisercraft paint to colour the scraplets.
Products used were:
A2z scraplets chipboard
Bazzill
Tattered angels glimmer mist
Kaisercraft paints
sequins
Texture paste
scrap patterned paper

I cannot believe next time I post it will be December.
Are you looking forward to the festive season?
I sure am.
Till next time
Happy crafting

Christmas is on it's way!

Hi Deb here today. OMG it's getting close to Christmas again. Where did the last year go??? This sudden startling realization lead me to dig out a photo of the first tree we put up in our new home. With kids and fur babies about it pays to keep the decorations simple and/or out of reach!

I have used a couple of the new chipboards from A2Z Scraplets's November release, 'Trimming the Tree GR' and 'Geo Trees'

Trimming the tree is very simply painted with an Adirondack paint dabber. Love these, so easy and so little mess to clean up. I've then just given it a covering of dimensional magic to for a bit of 3D and gloss. This is a really great medium for chipboard as you can add bits and bobs to it - glitter, beads, small metal pieces, whatever will fit will stick.

One the trees I have tried something a bit different. Puffy fabric paint and glitter. I applied a thick layer of paint then sprinkled glitter randomly over it. Not covering it completely to allow the paint itself to puff through. Being impatient I didn't bother to let it dry properly before I heated it gently, carefully controlling the 'puff' as I did. I love the effect if has given on the trees.

Materials used:
Bella papers
A2Z Scraplets
Little Birdie Burlap Doily
Christmas Paper clip

The next page uses one of the Christmas page frames. These are a quick and simple way of putting a page together when you have a few to do.

With this one I have left unaltered and simply written the journalling around the edges.

Materials used:
Cardstock
A2Z Scraplets

Until Next Time,
Happy Scrapping
