A LAYOUT TO SHARE

I shared many layouts in a previous post of my sons on their farm visit; here is another layout, this time using the HORSE shape...have included a close-up of the frame of the FLAG BANNER which I decided to include as a border strip ...cut a small piece out to fit the horse in.....and then did some hand stitching which I don't normally do but it did need something and I really liked the result.  I love the flag banner and its versatility ...I put brads in the holes and wound black string around them to connect them, then stapled to secure to page.

Happy scrapping till next month.

Happy Birthday Page Frame

Happy Birthday Page Frame

Frames as large as this usually have me stumped as I tend to not have enough pictures to support all the frames. This is only my second Page frame that I have ever attempted. I love how versatile it is as it has embellishments that I can decorate already in some of the squares where as the first one I attempted did not all those years ago.

1. Firstly I gave the frame a coat of gesso before I started work on it.

2.I took out all of my photos and placed them in spots under the frame to work out where I wanted them and to make sure that they were all balanced.

3. Turning the frame over I added tape to all the edges and then started taping down my photos. After each photo I turned the frame over and trimmed any excess photo that may have been protruding onto
the next frame.

4. Now for the fun part - decorating all the chipboard embellishments.
For the balloon I added Puff Embossing Powder which gave the chipboard a fantastic texture.

The candles I added some micro beads to the stems and Flocking for the burning candle part

to the streamer a little kindy glitz

to the happy birthday... a little pen work and some inkessentials (dimensional magic)
On the outer of the frame I chose to paint it with a Plaid white Gel paint which gave the frame a lovely marbled effect.

Finally I added the number 15 out of my stash to balance out the pink of the Happy Birthday on the opposite corner. Some washi tape to add a little more color and tie in more of the summery colors in the photos. I used some old paper i had in my stash.. Basic Grey...as my background. I painted up some timber crowns and added the sticker word celebrate.

Thanks for popping by and checking out my project for this month
have fun creating

Saturday Share from Caz

Hi to all you lovely crafters out there. I hope you are all keeping warm. I have a layout to share with you today that I started over a week ago and have finally finished it. Hope you enjoy what I have to share.
The title is one of the new A2Z scraplets released in the past few weeks"Simply us" I think it was perfect for a rare moment of the twins being nice to one another :) Of course this pic is a few years old so there is probably not a chance of it happening again. And here is a few close ups.

Till next time Happy crafting.

Because we only had a handful of entries for June EVERYONE IS A WINNER!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations ladies, please email challenges@a2zscraplets.com.au to claim your prizes.

WOW sooo much fun giving away goodies on behalf of Julie! Congrat again everyone. I just wanted to quickly share some recent creations of mine before I go..

First up is a layout using half this pack of Border pieces. I just used the swirly one.

New Hats. The gorgeous Scraplet has been simply embossed with White WOW Embossing Powder.

This next layout is using the gorgeous A2Z Scraplets Title "Too Darn Cute"

The Chippie on this layout got a gorgeous coat of swirled Platinum Silver Liquid Pearls aint it pretty?

This next creation is a card that I have used some stars out of this Theme Kit.

I am a little obsessed with making Non Traditional Christmas Cards at the moment because I usually get to December and run out of time to start. The Chipboard stars have been painted with a thin layer of Liquid Pearls and then topped with pearls! The photo really doesn't do it justice for this one, the stars look so cool.

This last creation I have to share is a fabulous Letter Rack that I have used these gorgeous leaves on.

The leaves were embossed using 3 different shades of green WOW Embossing Powders and then they were tucked into the gorgeous flower clusters.

Some closeups...

Well that's it from me today, thanks so much for checking out my recent creations using the gorgeous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard!

Until next time...happy scrapping!

A Layout with a Little Twist

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had a chance to join in with the Blog Hop, and went in the running to win some of the yummy prizes up for grabs.  I have had a very busy few weeks but have managed to fit in a little bit of time to scrap so I want to share with you the LO that I completed recently which I absolutely love.
A little while ago I was at my friends house and she had created a STUNNING layout using calico.  I loved the idea so I decided to give it a try.  So off I went to Spotlight to get some calico and I saw some gorgeous materials while I was in there and I decided to give them a try as well.  So I have created a LO using materials instead of papers.  This was a little different for me as I guess I have always just thought of scrapbooking as something that is done with papers & cardstock, but why limit ourselves when there are so many gorgeous materials out there and they work out soooooooo cheaply.  I think calico was about $2.50 per metre & the materials were on special for about $3 per metre.

I love this old rustic fence Scraplet.  I had heaps of fun with it - it got painted in white, then I ran over it with a very very light coat of a butterscotch paint dabber then back over with some white paint.  I left the little bird until the end and coloured him in blue with some smooch ink.  I then went over the bird with some glossy accents.  I covered the fence with Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

As it is on Material and is flimsy I decided to adhere it to a piece of cardstock to provide some support.
I hope that I have provided some inspiration for you today and perhaps you will find yourself paying a visit to the material section of your local Spotlight some time soon.
