July Challenge entries

I thought it was about time I put a post up about our challenge and the wonderful entries that we get each month. The July challenge was a mood board and proved very popular. Here's a sample of what we received and you'll see that we had a hard time judging them.

Our winner was Carolyn Haswell with her stunning entry.

The following entries were fabulous and again, as you can see, made it hard to choose a winner.

Thanks to all who entered and I hope you enjoyed taking part. Next month we'll have another new challenge and $30 gift voucher to spend in store on chipboard.

Happy Scrapping

Coffee time by Judith Armstrong

Good morning and welcome to another Saturday morning with Judith. Today I'm sharing a fun layout featuring my daughter's love of coffee.

The A2Z Scraplets Coffee Time title was perfect for this page. I inked the bottom two thirds of the title and then heat embossed the top third with a white embossing powder.

Thanks for looking

Heartbreaker by Judith Armstrong

Good morning and welcome to the weekend. I have a pretty feminine page to share with you today.

I have used the A2Z Scraplets Heartbreaker title and the A2Z Scraplets Swirling 1 frame.

As I loved the swirls on the frame but it was too small for my photo I decided to cut the Swirling 1 frame up into 6 pieces. I used the top and the bottom of the frame as one piece each and painted them with pink acrylic paint and placed at the top and the bottom of the photo.

I cut the 2 side pieces of the frame into 4 separate pieces. I used 2 of these in my cluster. I painted them with teal acrylic paint.

I painted the Heartbreaker title with teal acrylic paint and then used Tim Holtz distress glitter to cover it.

As I had some patterned paper left over and 2 pieces of the frame left over I decided to make a card as well. I used one piece of the side of the frame which I also painted with teal acrylic paint.

Thanks for looking.

The Block!

Hi Deb with you today sharing a layout using a combination of A2Z Scraplets products. The family had enjoyed watching The Block on TV one year and we were in Melbourne at the end of the series and were able to see the houses.

I began by using the Distressed Brick Wall stencil and Colour Blast Paste along with a simple palette knife to put some texture on the kraft card.

Next I selected some raw chipboards and white triangles pieces.

Using some papers from a 6x6 in paper pad I cut banners and arranged them behind the photo.

Using some of our Snow cut shapes I coloured them using alcohol or permanent markers. You can use craft specific or general stationery ones. These colour smoothly and evenly, giving a crisp clear colour on the white base stock. This was then dabbed with paint and embossed using Stampendous Ancient Embossing Marine powders.

The Picket Fence Border was painted while and sprinkled in random places with Stampendous Embossing Powder Ivory.

The title shown here is a custom cut and embossed using Stampendous Ancient Embossing Powder Marine.

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping

Fantastic Day - You are my reason to smile

Hello Scrappers!

I hope you are well and finding time to get creative!

I have a layout to share with you today featuring not 1 but 2 gorgeous pieces of A2Z Scraplets chipboard! And I have a bit of a tutorial on how I decorated the chipboard! Here is the layout...

I added heaps of texture to the chipboard using embossing powder! Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder by Ranger is great for adding texture without bulk to your chipboard pieces. I started off by inking up my piece with a Versamark pad...

Then I covered the chipboard with the embossing powder...

I then heated it with my heat tool...

Once cool I spritzed all over with a Dylusions spray! I am very happy with how the pieces turned out and how the chipboard brings texture to an otherwise flat page!

And here are some close ups of the chipboard...

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and are inspired to get creative using A2Z's gorgeous chipboard! You can find the Fantastic Day piece HERE on the website!

Happy scrapping!

Katherine :-)

Cards by Laurenscraft

Hello Everybody!!

Well here we are, Lauren and Teddy up on the blog today with a couple of cards to give you inspiration and ideas!!!   What a fantastic challenge weekend we had over Easter with our lovely Karyn Watton.  Watch out, I am sure there will be more coming along for you all!!

So now to the cards, you say! Yes yes here they are :)

First card has a stamped base (using My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing stamp set).  Chipboard is
A2Z Scraplets Chicken Wire (I thought it was Hexagons, silly me) painted with Ranger Distress Paint - Victorian Velvet and A2Z Scraplets Doily 2 Small Shape, embossed with
Stampendous Embossing Powder Shabby Pink.  Decorated with lace, ribbon and a handmade flower arrangement from my stash.

Just a close up of the A2Z Scraplets and my handiwork on that embellishment :)

And onto our second card for today!!!   This card is made with the Kraft Plus Challenge in mind.  Yes a Kraft base (I saved this piece from packaging and have been itching to use it.!!

I have spritzed the base with Dylusions Ink Spray in white.  Added some Grossgrain polkadot ribbon in four strips and a ruffled piece up the middle for something different and in keeping with the colour scheme.  Kaisercraft Die - Lacey Doily and Memory Box Die - MB Botanical Stem.  The A2Z Scraplets Birthday Set 1 Ebony and the Kylie's Triangle Texture Ebony Shape have been left as they come in that beautiful black.  Decorated with Sugar Beads and a flower arrangement.

Anniversary Escape

Hi, Deb here with you again today. I thought I'd share a page I did of a little place we went to for our wedding anniversary. We try to organize our holidays around that time of year to celebrate a very special day.

I have used the Anniversary Escape title and simply colored it, added dimensional paint and sprinkled a little bit of chunky glitter on.

This gorgeous embellishment was made by our DT member, Lauren. She makes the most gorgeous chipboard embellishments that are just beautiful for special cards or pages.

A close up of the chipboard showing the glitter.

Materials used:
A2Z Scraplets Chipboard
Kaisercraft papers
Basic Grey papers
Bella Bling
Doily

Until next time
