The Block!

Hi Deb with you today sharing a layout using a combination of A2Z Scraplets products. The family had enjoyed watching The Block on TV one year and we were in Melbourne at the end of the series and were able to see the houses.

I began by using the Distressed Brick Wall stencil and Colour Blast Paste along with a simple palette knife to put some texture on the kraft card.

Next I selected some raw chipboards and white triangles pieces.

Using some papers from a 6x6 in paper pad I cut banners and arranged them behind the photo.

Using some of our Snow cut shapes I coloured them using alcohol or permanent markers. You can use craft specific or general stationery ones. These colour smoothly and evenly, giving a crisp clear colour on the white base stock. This was then dabbed with paint and embossed using Stampendous Ancient Embossing Marine powders.

The Picket Fence Border was painted while and sprinkled in random places with Stampendous Embossing Powder Ivory.

The title shown here is a custom cut and embossed using Stampendous Ancient Embossing Powder Marine.

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping
Deb

Birthday Cards in Red

Hello Everybody!!

Yes we have Lauren and Teddy up on the blog today with so much news you will be blown away!!!

Yes it is true, over this and the next couple of months we will be seeking a couple of our lovely followers as Guest Designers for this very wonderful A2Z Scraplets Blog, how exciting is that!!! You can let me know if you want in by joining the A2Z Scraplets Challenge this month and commenting that you would like to be considered for this wonderful one-off gig!!! Yeppo that simple!!!

Oh Oh Oh and now onto our purpose for being here, yes that's right, Teddy made you a couple of cards :)

These are pretty in red and was the start of a project of 5 cards, but you know Teddy is a brilliant starter and a lousy finisher, so you only get 2 of them :)

Oh we loved doing this background, sprayed a 5x5 inch white card panel with homemade red shimmer spray (ink, water and perfect pearls forever red) then using the brand spanking new brickwall stencil from A2Z Scraplets applied texture paste and while the stencil was still in place sprinkled Stampendous EP Aged Scarlet, removed the stencil and heat set it.  Love the way the EP and the paste bubbles up when heated to create such wonderful texture as well as colour.

Used one of our favourite dies the Kaisercraft Lacey Doily with pearls on the base of each scallop, The A2Z Scraplets Happy Birthday is covered with the Stampendous EP Aged Scarlet and has the flower/leaf embellishments attached before placing on the card.

Oh how yummy is the same embossing powder on the A2Z Scraplet?  So rich and so colourful.  Love this mixed size EP and the way the particles melt but does not blend together fully.

Just a close up of the Chipboard and the brick texture.  One of my favourite ways of creating texture and covering A2Z Scraplets.

Now Teddy has another one for you.  And of course it has his special ribbon and bow treatment on it along with some very fancy bling.

Using the same products of home made spray (ink, water and perfect pearls forever red) to spray the background, the Kaisercraft Lacey Doily, then some lace, the ruffled ribbon and a bow with a bling to cover the knot.  The A2Z Scraplet is covered in Stampendous EP  Aged Scarlet and topped with a handmade embellishment of roses, leaves and cotton yarn then attached to the centre of the chippie.  Stamped sentiment on a ribbon cut set dimensionally and some bling added.

A close up of the A2Z Scraplet and the embellishment.

A different view to show the dimension of the embellished A2Z Scraplet.  I am a dimensional cardmaker and yes I make boxes instead of envelopes for my cards if they are to be posted to someone.

Have just been thinking I had forgotten something I had to tell you, and yes it was to come on over to Facebook and join in our May A2Z Challenge, loads of fun and a wonderful pack of A2Z Scraplets on offer to the best entry, you have nothing to lose and you could end up with a lovely prize pack.

Thanks for calling by to have a look!!!

Love from Lauren and Teddy xxx

Adventure Awaits!

Hi there, A2Zers! Over the Easter long weekend we at A2Z Scraplets hosted a cyber crop challenge on our facebook group here, and today I'm sharing one of the layouts I created for it.

This is the sketch we worked from...

And here is my layout inspired by the sketch.

I've used the Time Machine collection by Kaisercraft with lots of border punches, staples and distressing. The Texture Circles Scraplet was decorated with Stampendous Shabby Green Embossing Enamel.

Until next time, keep calm and craft on!

Hello Everybody!!

Well here we are, Lauren and Teddy up on the blog today with a couple of cards to give you inspiration and ideas!!!   What a fantastic challenge weekend we had over Easter with our lovely Karyn Watton.  Watch out, I am sure there will be more coming along for you all!!

So now to the cards, you say! Yes yes here they are :)

First card has a stamped base (using My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing stamp set).  Chipboard is
A2Z Scraplets Chicken Wire (I thought it was Hexagons, silly me) painted with Ranger Distress Paint - Victorian Velvet and A2Z Scraplets Doily 2 Small Shape, embossed with
Stampendous Embossing Powder Shabby Pink.  Decorated with lace, ribbon and a handmade flower arrangement from my stash.

Just a close up of the A2Z Scraplets and my handiwork on that embellishment :)

And onto our second card for today!!!   This card is made with the Kraft Plus Challenge in mind.  Yes a Kraft base (I saved this piece from packaging and have been itching to use it.!!

I have spritzed the base with Dylusions Ink Spray in white.  Added some Grossgrain polkadot ribbon in four strips and a ruffled piece up the middle for something different and in keeping with the colour scheme.  Kaisercraft Die - Lacey Doily and Memory Box Die - MB Botanical Stem.  The A2Z Scraplets Birthday Set 1 Ebony and the Kylie's Triangle Texture Ebony Shape have been left as they come in that beautiful black.  Decorated with Sugar Beads and a flower arrangement.

Loving Cards and Chipboard

Hello Everyone,

It is Lauren and Teddy up on the blog today with a couple of cards for you to have a look at and hopefully get some inspiration from.

So here they are:

The first is my usual shabby type card with a Paris theme, now who would not like to see Paris at some stage?

Viva modelling crème over Memory Box Stencil - Texture Splatter Spray, border and doily are Kaisercraft Dies - Lacy Border and Lacy Doily.  Butterfly is Memory Box Isabella Butterfly and Memory Box Pipi Butterfly.  Pearls are Kaisercraft Pearls.

Love, love in Paris, yes well this love is from A2Z Scraplets  Brush Words and has been decorated with black Tombow Pen and Glossy Accents

Love charms and decorated charms, I cannot take the credit for this one, it comes from Tracy at My2Angels.

The next card is a bit Clean and Simple for me, such a stretch not to cover up that white space.

These gorgeous Butterflies from Z2Z Scraplets  are called Maisie Butterflies Set of 3  and they are just gorgeous and so perfect for this card!!!  Stamp from Kaszazz.  The Butterflies have been done with Stampendous Embosssing Powder Shabby Blue (I love these shabby colours), which gives a thick melt with a hint of blue on white with gold speckles.  The edges have been touched with Viva Inka Gold in Aquamarine.

A close look at the finish on these butterflies.

Hope you like these, go on, do some creating now, and don't forget about the A2Z Challenge this month, and we are also having an Easter Weekend Challenge with loads of challenges and fun and games :) Something for everyone including the kidlets!!  Check it out https://www.facebook.com/events/1663115533951222/

See you next time xxxx

Love a Handmade Card

Hello Everybody,

Yes, yes, yes, Lauren and Teddy on the blog today to bring you our latest creations for your viewing pleasure!!!

So we have three cards today for you, all with A2Z Scraplets on them and other pretty things too.  We do love pretty.

This would be our favourite, it is so pretty, using paper from Kaisercraft small pad and covered with mesh ribbon, we used a painted brickwork chippie from A2Z Scraplets across the middle of the card for wonderful dimension, added lace and some bobble trimming.  Then used a Memory Box Grand Heart and La Rue Heart (double layered and embossed with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder).

Some foliage with Memory Box Pine Sprigs cut from a coordinating paper and Memory Box Fabulous Phlox for the flowers.

An angled view gives you an idea of the various textures and the great dimension achieved using the A2Z Scraplets under the heart.  Loads of texture with the chipboard, various fibres and trimmings and of course the Stampendous embossing powder.

So here is another one, in blue with so many stars to match the A2Z Scraplets star flourish.

This card looks so much better in real life, so sparkly and pretty with all the added glitter and stars.  Again a Kaisercraft paper for the background, embossed with a Sizzix Embossing folder and with added texture paste using Memory Box Stencil Stars Starry Night with glitter sprinkled over while wet.  Ribbon, bow and stars added to this.

The A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Star Set of 2 Flourish is embossed with Stampendous Embossing Powder Shabby Blue with two layers of powder (one melted and then more embossing fluid added and more powder added and melted.

And I have saved a good one to last, so pretty in purple with silver and glitter galore!!

Oh yes more pretty paper from Kaisercraft, embossed with the stars and swirls embossing folder from Sizzix and added texture paste using Memory Box Stencil Stars Starry Night with glitter sprinkled over while wet.  Lace and ribbon added and those beautiful stars cut from glitter paper.

This time I have made my own mix of embossing powder for the A2Z Chipboard Star Set of 2 Flourish using Adirondak Eggplant and Wild Plum with silver glitter and some silver and white embossing powders added.  All these powders were just regular size EP and I did not mix them very well, so the finished product has a variant in colour finish.

Hope you like what we have for you today, see you soon!!!

Everyday Occasion Cards

Hello Everybody,

Yes you have Lauren and Teddy up on the site again this week.  How lucky are you to get me two weeks in a row.  Teddy knows it is so hard for you to be without us for three weeks, so we did an extra one last week... Oh my we are so good to you :)

I love the simplicity of this card, it is a 5"x5" base with red Christmas Paper attached.  Then I have die cut a 5"x5" panel with the Poppy Stamps Die Merry Christmas Background Style 1065.  I have positioned the die to the left of the panel, so that there is a border on the right.

The wonderful A2Z Chipboard HOHOHO is embossed with Stampendous Aged Scarlet Embossing Powder.  I must learn to go the longest direction as I sprinkle as there are so many wonderful elements in it that some get missed when I go side to side the narrow way.  Still looks great though.

Just a close up of the embossing and different it can be over a large area.  More practice I feel will make me happier with my results, although I am pretty happy anyway, love these embossing powders, is like fine through to Ultra Thick powder all in the one bottle, with different colours of powder and glitters as well.  It is fantastic.

Oh and a lovely thank you card with the brand new (to me) Poppy Stamps Die Fancy Thanks.  Love that scripty writing.  The base of the card front and the base are both  die cut with a piece from the  Memory Box Dies Distressed Addington Collage, giving that lovely swirly effect.  The beautiful butterflies on the vine is a Memory Box Die Waltzing Butterflies and the extra foliage is from Memory Box Die Botanical Stem.

A close up of that lovely scripty Thanks and the flower made with Memory Box Die Petal Party, because you know how much I love making my own flowers and they are so easy when you just have to crease the petals a little to give some shape.

Hope you like these two offerings, hope you get some ideas or some inspiration from seeing them.

Thanks for looking, Lauren xx

Special Occasion Cards

Hello Everybody,

Lauren and Teddy up on the blog today and we are going to show you a couple of cards with mobs of flowers and are made especially for special occasions.

So these are the cards that I made just for you to get some inspiration from.  I hope you like them.

Ohhhhh...... This one is Teddy's favourite, a Cascading Z Fold Card we think, with a die cut lace border at the top (cut with Kaiser Lacey Borders) and all panels covered with patterned paper and some doilies.  The flat flowers, the tags and the sentiment come from packs of Kaiser Collectables, such fast embellishing with no effort.

I have added 3D roses and cherry blossoms (because I love them so much) and ribbon right across the bottom of the card.  All finished with flat back pearls and Ranger Ice Stickles.

Love the tags (dressed up with flowers and ribbons) and the sentiment piece from the Kaiser Collectables.  So easy, so quick.  No mess from stamping if you are not so confident too.

Oh and the second card is one I have been dreaming of for a long time and Deb created the Chipboard Sentiment for me, love it.

I have used a 5"x5" card base and cut a piece of Kaiser Paper Pad cut to size and torn top and bottom, then stitched around including tears.  This is then attached to the card and the tears are rolled open.  I have done a few stencil leaves over the base.  The three chipboard pieces, the Two Becomes One and the Vine Flourish (cut in half for the two corners) have been embossed with Stampendous Shabby White (love that stuff, so pretty), and then glued to the card.

Then I have rolled the tears more and filled the space with pearl beads of different sizes.  Added 3D roses and cherry blossoms to the chipboard swirl on the two corners.  The flowers are all touched with Ranger Ice Stickles.

This last photo gives a closer photo of the embossed flourish and the pearls in the paper tear as well as the Ice Stickles on the flowers.

Oh yes I love pretty, oh so pretty.

Hope you like today's effort and get some ideas from them.

Thanks Lauren
