Texture Paste & Scraplets

Hi Everyone,
Today I want to share a layout I created for last month it shows how you can use the Tree half Scraplet which you can purchase direct from A2Z Scraplets

My friend took this fabulous photo of her little girl playing amongst the leaves and with all of these beautiful Autumn hues I felt the tree was ideal to add to the page and  I teamed it up with Cheery Lynn Design dies to achieve the look you can see here.

To get the tree to look like wood I swiped Texture Paste on it in sections , I did this randomly and very roughly … then I let it dry.

As you can see from this close up I extended the random texture out to the branches also.Once the Texture paste dried I then mixed various shades of brown with dark and highlight tones. I painted the texture paste and the bare chipboard was left unpainted. Once dry I used my Zig Writer markers to fill in the other colors to give shadows in the places that I did not have texture paste.

I then assembled the layout and added the leaves. I chose varying colors and scattered them down the page as if they were falling off the tree.

The half tree is a definite must to try and is the perfect accompaniment to those Autumn layouts where the leaves are falling…

Have a great week of scrapping
Tracey

  2. thanks Kerry, The texture paste is so much fun to create with. The only down side to it is the time it takes to dry although this can be sped up with a heat gun, but i find it does not dry properly underneath all in all its great to add depth to the layouts... hope you have fun crafting xx
