Day of Fun - Karen McLaughlin

Hi Karen with you today with my example for this month's challenge.  It is a challenge where you take inspiration from the mood board.  I have taken bikes, bikes, bikes.  I have used the large bike shape and also the small bike shape.  The other pieces of chipboard I have used is the Feather Arrow Circle frame  and the title Day of Fun.  All of these plus lots lots more can be found in the shop.  Here is the link http://www.a2zscraplets.com.au/products.php

Exploring in Adelaide

Hello Everyone. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today I am sharing a layout featuring a A2Z flourish.

Recently I had an afternoon playing tourist in Adelaide and we discovered this bridge not far from the CBD. 

I used this amazing flourish to anchor the photo (and to cover up a grotty looking corner of the photo). 

The flourish was painted with Distress oxide - blueprint sketch.

A bonus when using Distress oxides - you do not need to gesso the chipboard first - yay!

Snapchat Fun - Karen McLaughlin

Karen here with you today to show you a page where I have cut in half a dream catcher and detached the feathers to place them elsewhere.  I also added a peacock feather.  With the title Snapchat Fun I also detached the stars to place them elsewhere.  Don't be afraid to cut up your chipboard to get more out of it.  Thanks for looking.

My husband and I are big cycling fans and love the Tour Down Under when it comes to Adelaide in January.

The background has my usual texture paste, including metallic texture paste, ink/misting and stamping.

A Proud Moment - Karen McLaughlin

Hi A2Z Fans.  Karen on the blog today to show you a page using the Squiggle Flourish Set of 3.  I have also used this delightful Floral Heart which is placed behind the photo.  It is such a pretty piece.  I love it.   There is also the great title - a proud moment -  all of which has been painted and some texture paste added to it.  I cut up the Squiggle Flourish a bit to place around the heart.  Thank you for looking.

My husband took this photo while out cycling; the things that you can discover on the back roads.

Keeping with the rustic theme, I have added the barb wire border.

Walk on the Beach

                          hi Heidi here today sharing with you my page of our son years ago at the beach in                                          Forster which we holiday there at least once a year .
                             The page has a lot of texture so I kept the title walk on the beach
                                       very simple and raw with a splash of blue inka gold...

You could call this layout "Mixed media" and is made with

A2Z Scraplets A perfect Moment word and Torn Mesh shape.

I first made the background. The sheet in the centre of the layout is heavy weight watercolor paper that I colored with Brusho's in purple and reds. After this was dry, I stamped the design, then applied gesso around the stamping. I followed this up with stenciling using purple Nuvo paste. When dry, this entire piece was trimmed to 12 inch x 7 inch and placed on black cardstock.

I followed up with more stenciling, this time with white texture paste. This of course I didn't like and colored over the white with a purple Gelato.  I also added more stamping and heat embossed that in white. The background was then finished.  

My A2Z Scraplet Torn Mesh shape was  cut then painted in pink, purple and white.

The A2Z Scraplet A perfect moment was also painted in purple and white, but I didnt like it. As you can see, I ended up painting the entire title in white.

From scraps from the trimmed watercolor card that I had colored, I stamped and cut images to use as elements on my page. 

I then assembled it all together along with the photo, and the page was complete!

Blowing Out The Candles by Brenda Caldow

Hello and a big welcome to the A2Z Blog. Brenda here with you today and I would like to share with you my page today of my sons Sweet 16th Birthday. Yes he decided that if a girl can have a sweet 16 then why couldn't a boy. He likes to challenge things and people. He decided that a Sweet 16 Slumber Party was what he wanted. 

The patterned papers and word stickers I have used on my page are by Kaisercraft. If you pop on over to the A2Z Store you will find a large range of products including some great patterned papers. The fin of shopping on line is being able to sit at home and craft away while you wait for the postman. 

 My title chippie I coloured with a Posca Paint Pen - Blue with glitter.

Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle - Karen McLaughlin

Hi Karen with you today with a very cute baby page.  The A2Z Chipboard I have used is of course the title "Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle" which I painted black and then covered in crackle accents.  The other piece of A2Z chipboard is the wonderful Star background which I painted black used some kindy glitz and also some blue prills. Hello all, Carolyn here. Today I am sharing a double layout using some title chipboard by A2Z Scraplets.

One of our cats - Tootsie - just loves to escape from the house and roll in the sand. 

The title chippies I inked in dark brown with some rust accents.

The background was created with texture paste and a brick stencil. I then misted over the paste with a few autumn toned inks.
