Fun in the sun was a fun to make

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this time with a BIG! A2z Scraplets project.
This month our A2Z challenge is Summer. An what is more summer than this Fun in th sun page?
This A2Z Scraplets chipboard frame was just so perfect to scrap my dear grandson's summer water photos. I used 4 photos and added 4 stamped collaged pieces (The Rubber Cafe oldies from my DT past on this great team).
All stamped images were heat embossed with WOW! Embossing powders in black and then colored with Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos (what a fun and easy way to make your own so called " art pieces"!
All frame was embossed again with a lot of powders and I added some journaling over the washi tape.

And now for my stamped pieces- most of then were in the die cut  spots of this gorgeous frame

There are more of those most lovely frames in A2Z Scraplets shop. Grab  some and see how easy you can make a multi photo lo in no time!
See you next time with more A2Z inspiration!
Love

Michelle's 1st GDT Post

                                    Hi, A2Z Fans!
I'm so excited! This is my first post as GDT for A2Z Scraplets!
For today I have a Summer LO using Butterfly shapes stencilets chipboard and the Love 1 script word chipboard!
I love the shapes and variety of  designs of the Butterfly stencilets chipboard!
For the dark blue butterfly chipboard I used Distress crackle paint in rock candy.
I then added Creative Inspirations paint Denium color.
For the 2nd butterfly with the beads I painted the outside edges with the CI paint in Denium and used Art glitter beads and glass in  Gala glitz in blue. I then painted the rest of the butterfly using CI paint in Tanzanite.
To embellish the sentiment Love word chipboard, I embossed it using a Provo Craft wood grain embossing folder and used Beige paint by Creative Inspirations.
The A2Z Scraplets chipboard was so easy to use when embossing!

Denium paint and Distress crackle paint in rock candy.

Art glitter beads and glass in  Gala glitz in blue. I then painted the rest of the butterfly using CI paint in Tanzanite. For the edges I used Denium paint color.

For the background of the LO I used some light pink mist and randomly flicked some dark blue paint.

The stencil I used one from Viva Décor and used modeling paste to apply the stencil.
For the paint color I used on the vine I used Creative Inspirations paint in Evergreen.
The leaves I used randomly: Emerald and Sage by Creative Inspirations Paint.
You can see all the shimmer from the paints on the sentiment love and the butterflies and leaves.
I used a doily punch by Martha Stewart on the paper. Love how durable the A2Z chipboards are to embellish! Very sturdy and so durable that it still holds up after altering the chipboard! Don't forget to check out the new A2Z Scraplets stencilets and the Masklets!! If you love the amazing chipboard you will love the beautiful and amazing designs on the stencils too!
Here's the link to A2Z Scraplets store!!

Thank you Julie for the amazing opportunity to be here as a Guest Designer!
Have a wonderful day!

Camping and crafting...

I have been super busy of late and decided on our Camping getaway that I was going to take some time to do some Scrapbooking… my beautiful husband made room to leave his golf clubs out and pop my scrapbooking gear in … bless him.

Once there I had some awesome new Scraplets to work with and I also remembered to pack the new A2Z stencilets and masklets to have a play with. I had a heap of fun creating and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the sand and came up with the Just too Cute layout of my nephew.

So while being eaten by midgies and everything blowing around this is how I put it all together -

I’ve used these fantastic Scraplets & Stencilet -Chevrons Stencilet/ maskelet, Cogs set 3 ,
Word ‘Just too Cute’ & the Cog banner

When creating my page I decided to follow the theme of the banner ends and carry this over with the strips of printed paper on the layout by cutting them the same.  The next step was to test the placement of the pictures and embellishments before I used the Chevron Stencilet – and I was pretty happy with the orange printed paper I had chosen as it picked up the handles of the scissors in the picture.

Okay with all that sorted it was time to play with the Chevron Stencilet…
I placed the Stencilet over the banner strips once they were stuck down and used texture paste to fill in some of the sections. I have used a knife to add the texture paste and i have added it roughly to the page to give added texture.

Once that was all done it was time to work on the other embellishments . Firstly I gave all the chipboard an undercoat of paint – I used Making Memories shopping bag as my color for this. Then I used a dry brush to paint some green over the chipboard pieces.

For the next step  I sprayed some Glimmermist onto a mat and pressed the chipboard onto it to pick up hints of the color in random places.

For the Word I found that it was blending in too much with the colors of the printed paper and the photos so I followed with a few more steps to help change the blending in problem I was having.

Firstly I used smooch to add more vibrancy – this was too bright so I then added some black paint that  I sponged off  - this helped give me the darkness I needed for the title but allowed for all the colors I had prepped earlier to show through.

The cogs were all prepared in the same way as the other chipboard. But leaving more solid color on them as to highlight them as a standout embellishment or they would get lost in their placement on the layout.

Finally I glued all embellishments and photos into place. I decided that the chevrons needed the white to be  toned down so I used my brown stamp pad and lightly brushed over the raised texture paste.

Thanks for reading and I hope that you can find some photos in your your pile of pics that you can use these  Scraplets and Stencilets with. I love the versatility and range of these products as they co-ordinate together to give a nice balanced layout.

April Challenge

Hello crafters, did you fall for any April fools jokes today? I did not due to the act right at this minute I am in the campier trailer with my family on holidays for a week (hence the late post for the challenge) With the long weekend past you will be looking for challenges and we have a fab one here. This month challenge is a QUOTE and it is:

You brighten up my day

And my take is:

And where is the A2Z Scraplets you wonder? Right here:

This is one of the many awesome stencils the A2Z has. I also did this with the above stencil:

Now the rules: The QUOTE must be on the layout and we need to see it (show a close up if needed), you DON'T have to use A2Z Scraplets but of course we would love to see what you do with them. The challenge closes on the last day of April at midnight. Also if you don't have a blog you can email a pic of the layout to A2Z and they will put it up. Hope to see as many and more then we got in the last few months!!!! It has been awesome seeing the entries :D

Thanks for looking
