Wake your dreams

Goals to be set

It's a truly amazing thing greeting in the New Year. We get to start it afresh with a whole new outlook and a new list of goals to strive towards. My list this year is long and I hope to cross off at least two of the things on it - no need to set the bar too high as I love surprises.

Unfortunately I have not been creating as much as I would of late although the mess in my craft room would tell a lie... So January is going to be the time for a summer clean up and clean out to get my creative energy all balanced again and ready to scrap all the photos I have been taking over the summer holidays.

As I started to clean up I found this little gem hiding on top of my paper stash - I had put it there to dry... oops - I used a new Scraplet that I had designed at the end of 2013 called wake your dreams and it fits this picture perfectly.

I am a believer in waste not want not... so believe it or not this page started off as a green piece of cardstock - it was given a quick coat of gesso and after that had dried I used a mask with modelling paste and paint mixed in - i have smudged off the edges and waited for the whole thing to dry.

Another thing about me is that I love to make my own embellishments - so while this was drying I got busy making the little bird embellishment and the paper flowers and the pink chiffon flower....

When the cardstock was dry I found some muslin and sewed it on to the background and found a few doilies to help add to the softness of my 'girlie' layout... It was all topped off with some awesome pink washi tape...

I left the Scraplet white - it was painted with gesso and then have taped it on with some washi tape - and a little glue

have fun creating your creative to do lists for the year

Life's Moments Bright Scrapbook Page with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back today with a fabulous bright fun layout to share with you all using tonnes of A2Z Scraplets goodies. The A2Z Scraplets used on this layout include the Chipboard Title-Life's Moments & the Chipboard Shapes-Vine.

This layout has lots of fabulous layers including papers from the Prima Anne Marie Collection and lots of yummy Prima Marketing Flowers. In amongst my flower clusters are 2 A2Z Scraplets Shape-Vines which I have coated using Green Thumb Shimmerz Dimensionalz Paint and heat dried so it bubbled, boiled and popped.

My background was created using a piece of double thick Bazzil White Cardstock, masked with Texture Paste & a Prima Marketing Stencil, then I have smeared some yellow & hot pink Shimmerz Dazzlers Paste randomly and smeared it more with a piece of paper towel. I have then doodled around the gorgeous stencil detail to really help it pop from the background.

The A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Title-Life's Moments was given a coat of Hot Pink Shimmerz Dazzlers paste (same as used on the background) and I have created texture by placing the chipboard upside down on my craft mat while the paint was still very wet, and then lifting off. When this was dry I have added some Inka Gold rub onto some of the texture and I have finished it off with some Black & White Shimmerz Dimensionalz Paints really randomly added with a dry brush.

My journalling is on a tag that you can see pulls out from the right side of the layout as pictured here where it says Today's News.

Well that is it from me today, hope I have inspired you all to get messy with your paints on A2Z Scraplets Chipboard. They can take layer upon layer and still stand strong!
Until next time, happy scrapping!

BRICK WALL

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting A2Z blog today. This photo was taken on one of our visits to Dream World on the Gold Coast- these were always fun-filled days and a very popular family outing for our boys....also a great opportunity for photos! The brick wall scraplet matched the photo really well and I decided to leave the chipboard raw as it toned in with the colours of my layout. I also added a couple of cogs as embellishments and used the title Up2Mischief which I painted and then doodled in white on part of it to highlight it against the darker background.

Shapes - Brick Wall

Then a photo of my dearest Dad on one of his visits to us - just loved this title for these photos and layout! I outlined the chef's hat and covered with flocking.

King of the BBQ - Word

Finally a layout of my youngest son with his 2 sisters-in law celebrating their birthdays which are in the same week in September. HAPPINESS is a perfect description!

Have a great day and week!

January Challenge

Hello. Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone enjoyed there night last night and there isnt too many sore heads this morning.

A new year, a new month so that means a new challenge. I am filling in for Belinda today so she has set the challenge which is to do something you have never done before. I initally had trouble with this one. I couldnt think of anything i hadnt done before. I first thought of doing a project life page but didnt know if i would have it up on time, so a few fellow team mates helped and i done a 20 LAYERS page. This page has 20 layers on it, something i had never done before.....

and here is a closeup of the scraplet frame...Im soooo in love with these...

Anyway i did get my project life page done so i have 2 to share. My title page for my 2014 album, which has a little scraplet heart on it...

So what new technique or style will you choose???
Here are a few ideas if you are stuck
Scrap a page with no paper...
Scrap a page with 1 colour only.....
Scrap a page with no photo....
Or a page with heaps of photos...
Choose a different style of scrapping, arty, simple, grungy, shabby chic....

Just dont forget your scraplet....

The girls will pop on during the month and give you some more ideas if needed.
Cant wait to see what you come up with..
